Perfect for high traffic areas, runner rugs are for those areas which require a longer rug than the standard size. Runners are used for restricted areas as they can be cut and bound on both edges to ensure a finished look. The Rug House offers a ‘create your own runner’ cut and binding service for those who require particular measurements to suit the area.
Usually inserted into the hallway, stairway, landings or kitchens, runners are ideal to give a sense of space and protect long narrow spaces.
The Rug House provides various runners in an extensive range of sizes and designs which can feature on carpet, wooden or tiled flooring.
Price – The Rug House has a great budget range of runner rugs which are of high quality. If you don’t want to spend a lot we provide runner rugs starting at just £3.50 to £65 for the denser collections. Our website allows you to refine your search by selecting the price range you wish to view, only featuring those rugs within your budget.
Material – Most of our runners are manufactured using synthetic materials as this fibre is strong and retain their original shape, so are easy to wash and wear. This material is also soft and costs a lot less. Other runner rug materials include polypropylene, heatset polypropylene, jute, acrylic and coir. We stock numerous runner rugs which include a strong non slip rubber backing so the runner stays secure and in position. The Rug House also covers those runners which do not possess a rubber backing as we provide anti slip underlay and non-slip rug control spray.
Colours – The majority of our runner rugs feature patterns including stripes, patchwork and traditional borders. Our runners come in an array of colours from the plain neutrals to the busy splashes of colours.
Size- The thing about runner rugs is that they can be adjusted to suit almost any space as The Rug House provides a cutting service were the rug size can be altered to fit into the area. We also offer a binding service so the rug can be bound on both edges, resulting in a finished look. The binding service is usually used for those stair carpets which will be used as a hall runner. Please see our measuring guide for further information.
Shape – Runners are mainly long and narrow rugs, although shorter, wider runners are also available.
